Well, in a nutshell we should'nt. And the reason we should not is because it gives them credence and a reason to carry on. The things not to do are as follows:

1. Do not let them know you are being affected by their efforts. 

2. Do not bait them. all you are doing is inviting them to carry on. 

3. Do not use normal everyday interference as an excuse to mention " It's proberbaly the mic keyer".

4. Do not try to belittle the mic keyer in anyway. They will do it even more, and you will only show them how bad an operator You are yourself.

5. Do not presume you know who is carring out the offences and mention your thoughts to others over the radio. This is classed as "Air Abuse" by ofcom and moreover can cause offence to inocent parties whom might be doing nothing wrong. It can also land you in court. Especially if you mention specific areas, names,and equiptment that you suspect might be used and you cannot back up your thoughts.

6. Do not talk about them when they are not there.  You must have something better to talk about. Have'nt you!.

 7. Your location could mean you might receive signals from far afield. Lets say you live on a hill! how can you tell that you are being intefered locally or 40 miles away. 

What to do?

Quite simple this one. None of the above!

1. You need to log times and other info that might be relevant.

2. Encourage others to do the same,so that you can pool resources for use at a latter date  

3. contact ofcom and present the case to them. you should get a case number.  You might have to call or e-mail them more than once. but, keep at it.

4. A petition might help if signed by enough people and forwarded to the authorities.

This is done by people who should know better not just by age but also by callsign. When you taunt and bait mic keyers you become as bad as them. Neh, worse than them. certain amatuers even sing songs. not to mention other things which are in the wrong... If these Amateurs cannot operate within their licence conditions then how can they complain when others don't.  One rule for one and one for another is not right.
